The Almaty Hippodrome, established in 1930, stands as one of Central Asia's oldest equestrian sports facilities. The 39.1-hectare complex has been transferred to municipal ownership following the directive of the Head of State. The hippodrome is being preserved as a unified complex dedicated to both historical and sporting purposes. Plans are in place to restore its sports functions, modernize infrastructure, renovate stands and stables, upgrade sporting tracks, and update engineering systems. Following modernization, the hippodrome will continue serving its primary role in hosting municipal and republican equestrian competitions.
