Altyn-Emel National Park is one of Kazakhstan's largest nature reserves, covering over 4,600 km² and located 250 km from Almaty. The park encompasses the Aktau and Katutau mountain ranges, characterized by dramatic desert-like landscapes and ancient saxaul forests. It's home to rare wildlife species including kulans, argali sheep, and jeirans.
