Altyn Emel National Park is a state nature reserve situated in the Ile River valley, established in 1996 to preserve rare species of flora and fauna. The park encompasses vast territories featuring diverse landscapes: sand dunes, mountain ranges, ancient saxaul forests, and steppes. The park is home to rare wildlife species listed in the Red Book of Kazakhstan. The Aktau and Katutau mountains stand among the park's most significant natural attractions.
