Altyn-Emel National Park is a state nature reserve in the Ili River valley in south-eastern Kazakhstan, 250 km from Almaty, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park is renowned for its striking multicoloured Aktau mountains, the singing dune Aikhanum, historical monuments, and distinctive landscapes ranging from sandy deserts to mountain ranges.
