A theatrical production based on the play by French dramatist Jean Genet, performed at Transforma. The plot centres on two sisters who are servants, plotting against their mistress.
Les Bonnes | The Maids is based on Jean Genet's acclaimed play (1947). Directed by Vasily Popov, this production explores how dependency, social inequality, and lack of freedom shape human relationships. At its heart are the servant sisters Claire and Solange, who conspire to murder their mistress Madame, despite her kindness and care. The performance reveals how tenderness transforms into violence, beauty into ugliness, and farce into tragedy.
