The asphalt paths along the Esil with designated lanes for running and cycling are a popular spot for morning workouts and evening walks throughout the year. The flat terrain and open views of the river make the park one of the most frequented sports areas in the city.
The park opened in July 2016 as a gift to the city on the occasion of Astana's 18th anniversary from construction company BI Group. Originally designed as a training facility for triathlon athletes, it has long since become a public space accessible to all for running, cycling, and active recreation year-round.
