Spacious avenues, relaxation zones, and fountains make the park one of the main destinations for a leisurely stroll within the city. A special local attraction is the ponds with swans, which people often visit specifically with children.
The park covers 104 hectares and is considered the oldest major park in the capital according to longtime residents. Nearby is the ethno-memorial complex "Atameken" (as of 2026, dismantled).
