🚗 Route on 2GIS

The water park operates on the second floor of Aport Mall West, located on Tashkent Highway—outside the city but easily accessible. The mall sits on the road towards Bishkek, with free parking for thousands of vehicles and dozens of bus routes nearby. The complex is indoors and operates year-round, so rain, wind, or frost outside don't matter. Inside, there's a wave pool ("sea") with an area of 1,862 m², more than 12 water slides, and the Miami spa zone with seven types of saunas. The name is dual—"Hawaii" and "Miami"—but it's one place with different zones of the same complex; don't look for two separate water parks.

History

The water park occupies part of Aport Mall West—a shopping complex on Tashkent Highway with a total area of over 210,000 m², one of the first malls of such scale in Almaty. The first Aport opened in September 2009 on the city's anniversary day, and on opening day alone it welcomed approximately 62,000 visitors—a record figure for that time. In 2010–2012, the project was recognized as Kazakhstan's best development project three years in a row at the International Property Awards. Today, around 250,000 people live within a five-minute distance from the mall, and over half a million within ten minutes. Its location on the road towards Bishkek was originally calculated to serve all of western Almaty and its suburbs, not just nearby neighborhoods. Besides the water park, the mall also houses the Funky World entertainment center and the nine-screen Aport Cinema. The entire complex was originally built not only as a shopping destination but also as a major entertainment hub for western Almaty. The water park with its wave pool has become one of the complex's main attractions—today it is Central Asia's largest artificial "sea."

The complex is actually bigger than its name suggests. Inside there's an indoor Hawaii with children's pools and jacuzzis, an indoor Miami for adults, a summer outdoor zone with pools, and a separate Miami SPA zone with saunas and cosmetic services. All this occupies an area of about 35,000 m². The water in the wave pool is maintained at +29°C year-round, so even in winter the feeling of "sea" is preserved. In summer, it's worth adding the outdoor zone to your plans—it operates seasonally, in addition to the indoor section.

The "water park plus spa under one roof" format is uncommon in Almaty: usually it means two separate trips to two different locations in the city. Here you can spend a day with children on the slides and then, without them, return in the evening to the sauna—without leaving the building. Due to the size of the wave pool, it's better to visit outside peak weekend hours. That way you can actually ride the waves instead of waiting in line for them.
